abandonment plays an important role in the field of character development in the play, so the characters can go on in the play, and continue their lives as if it was actually a real story. abandonment is important to the play as a main theme, as it fits the story perfectly, with all of its glory. they are important, again, as they show how our characters would react to these situations, and give us a deeper insight into what kind of a person they are. for example, Jim is a family man, yet he abandons his mother for a greater purpose for himself. this shows that he is willing to do what is  both in his family interest, along with what s best for HIM.

  one day samantha and her brother carson was walking in a path then samantha's brother carson almost stepped on something on the ground "carson, stop! " she shouted "huh, why?
