Which statement best explains the cultural conflict that occurs between the braider, Aisha, and the narrator, Ifemelu? [Excerpt from "Americanah" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie] Both the Senegalese braider and Ifemelu believe that it is best to be in America only a short amount of time, otherwise they could forget their home culture. Ifemelu feels the need to exaggerate her years in America because other immigrants like Aisha don't respect newcomers. Ifemelu's Nigerian culture teaches her to tell the truth, even if other immigrants will look down on her Aisha does not respect Ifemelu's length of stay in the US because she has lived there longer and feels more Americanized.
