Lukianoff and Haidt conclude that the faculty of
American colleges and universities need to issue
more "trigger warnings” and avoid assigning
troubling or challenging reading material in order
to better serve the emotional needs of America's
young people, who are experiencing greater
mental health issues and anxiety in general.
