Macbeth's growing ambition to become a new ruler is shared by many contemporary politicians and influential people. Macbeth is a prototype of a person ready to do anything to achieve his goal. He does not care about those around him, which is why he even kills king Duncan and his friend, Banquo. Today, the circumstances have changed, and influential people normally do not murder others who stand on their way. However, many of them are ready to betray other people and treat them unkindly, for the sake of their own success.

Although I do not look for the books, movies and plays that respond to the history of our times on purpose, it is usually the case that many books that are part of the school curriculum do contain ideas present in our times as well.

Themes of revenge, betrayal, love, friendship, forgiveness, freedom and the lack of it, are familiar to us in real life.
