In the first chapter of The Metamorphosis, Kafka portrays Gregor as a dual being, both human and insect. Gregor must learn how to adapt to his new transformation. As an example, Gregor must figure out how his new body functions and learn how to use his legs and turn over. Note these conflicts between the Gregors’s old human habits and adapting to his new insect characteristics, and list five of them. What are some of the things he does as he adjusts to his new existence? Write the paragraph that you paraphrased the example from.
