the contrast between a clear and understood meaning is that the clear meaning of a poem is that the detail is exactly defined. nothing is left to (understanding/ explanation). an understood meaning is a suggested meaning. kabir's poetry is both clear and understood in that it can be understood/explained on different levels. the clear meaning leaves nothing to (understanding/ explanation) while the understood meaning leaves lots open to (understanding/ explanation). an example of this is found in the poem "rumi and the (related to religion or the soul) lover".
