Highlight the sentence in the passage that indicates what kind of intellectual
curiosity climatologists have.
Climatologist
There are many careers that require math skills in order to be successful. Some of them are
obvious like math teacher or budget director. However, many people don't realize that being a
climatologist requires math skills. A climatologist is someone who studies the effect of weather
and the climate over time. While there is a lot of science involved in this job, math and science
are almost always connected. Climatologists have to use all kinds of math including Calculus
and Statistics. Climatologists use geometry in their work because they have to figure out the
angles, degrees and trajectory of a piece of equipment when it measures parts of the climate.
Geometry is important in the part of this job that designs and figures out the different parts of
the experiments. Climatologists also create models of the Earth or areas to make predictions.
These models have to be to scale, and that requires Geometry. People who are really
interested in the weather and the environment would definitely like this job. They want to
know why certain things are happening with the climate and what can be done to help it.
