Miller is saying that people in Salem were accused of been related to the Devil just because they disagree with some point or think differently, just like they did in the 1950s, they just accused people of been communist by the way they think or speak. Miller at his writing said, “only England has held back before the temptations of contemporary diabolism.”Miller said that back then everything related to sex was linked to the Devil, the Devil made them do it, “Sex, sin, and the Devil were early linked, and so they continued to be in Salem, and are today.”
