Read Anne’s diary entry on p. 544 at the end of Act 1. She quotes Goethe, a famous German writer, to describe how her feelings shift from tremendous gratitude to great sadness.
Reflect on your feelings these past weeks. Describe some of the feelings you have been experiencing. Have you had moments when you are on top of the world and others when you have been in the depths of despair? How do you feel most days?
