On the crowded train, prisoners are cold and miserable. Eleizer describes feeling like everyone's brains were dying and losing their memories. He goes on to say, "Our minds numb with indifference. Here or elsewhere, what did it matter? Die today or tomorrow, or later? The night was growing longer, never-ending" What is Eleizer saying here? Interpret this passage in your own words.
