He thought his grandfather was a giant. As a chile, this was important to have the image of his grandfather as someone influential and extremely important. His grandfathwould give give very good advices. Like he once assured Anaya when a friend of Anaya died that " Death is only this small transformation in life". The auothor described his grandfather as  "stood five feet tall, but to me as a child he was a giant."
