Write a scene between a parent and a teen-aged child in which a conflict arises because the child wants to drive to an event out of town with a friend of whom the parent is not fond. As the child, justify why you should be given permission. As the parent, state the reasons why you oppose this.

"Mallory, i said no!" Yelled Mallory's mother, exasperated.

"But that not fair mom, you said i could go!"

"I changed my mind, if id have known what friend you were talking about-"

"You cant judge a person on their parents mom!"

"I said no, end of discussion." States Mallory's mom angrily, but also slightly flushed.

"We already bought tickets to go, ive saved up all year!"

"Well, ill pay you back, or you can go with someone else."

"But its TOMORROW!" Says Mallory, close to tears.

Mallorys mother looks at her, sighs and runs a hand through her hair. "Fine! But i am driving, and don't go making fiends with her mom either."

"Really? I can go?!"

"Yes, i guess."

The two embrace each other lovingly. Mallory never truly knowing that Sarah's mom used to be best friends with hers.
