Jacob is writing a narrative about cooking dinner for his family. Read the following excerpt from his narrative:
I turned on the heat to warm the olive oil. The oil's fruity
fragrance began to fill the air. It was soon joined by the
sharp tang of chopped onions and garlic as I tossed them in
the pan. They sizzled softly as I stirred them with a spatula.
They browned and softened in the heat. Next I added rich,
red chunks of tomatoes. My mouth watered, waiting for the
sauce, made from my grandmother's cherished recipe, to
cook.

How does the author use sensory language to capture the action in the paragraph?

A.) He uses it to reveal the steps in the cooking process
B.) He uses it to help the reader taste the meal the narrator is cooking
C.) He uses it to help readers smell aromas and see the sauce's ingredients
D.) He uses it to let the reader feel the affection the narrator has for his grandmother.
