If my new community was in the past, I would not have been welcome nor would many of my neighbors. Hughes words relate to me not only because of my husband and family but because I am raising black children that are the future. And in my opinion we need to make it a better future for everyone. So if I am involved in helping that change come my children will have an example of their powers and the voices they have. I also teach them we need to vote in quadrants.
