First we have the change at the beginning, where for her birthday Clary decides to go to a totally different club in her style. It also shows us that Clary is actually a shy person so we can see the first change here.

In the other quote we can see a brave Clary who responds with a "My name is not‘ little girl, ’. Here we notice how her character has grown a lot and has stopped being that shy and cowardly little girl.
