"The Maori: Genealogies and Origins in New Zealand" and "The Raven and the First Men: The Beginnings of the Haida" are very similar myths, but at the same time very different from each other. The similarity between them is perceived through the subject that governs their narratives. This is because both myths are in charge of telling, each in its own way, the origin of human beings and the planet that houses them. However, the myth "The Maori" presents this narrative with courage as its main theme, since it narrates a sequence of struggles and conflicts that resulted in the creation of the world and humans. The myth "The Raven", on the other hand, does not base the creation of the world and humans on situations of courage, but on pleasure and satisfaction of desires.

remember always that germany and italy, regardless of any formal declaration of war, consider themselves at war with the united states at this moment just as much as they consider themselves at war with britain or russia. and germany puts all the other republics of the americas into the same category of enemies. the people of our sister republics of this hemisphere can be honored by that fact.
