I walk in the door, my mother smiling and greeting me her sparkly red nails catching the light from the window as she waved. "how was the trip" she curiously inquired. I explained to her and got so deep into it I felt myself go back. I could practically taste the tang of the salty air on the sea as I open my mouth to speak. With strong words and a fluent tongue I spoke of my treacherous adventures circumnavigating the vast sea. I did dramatic arm motions to grab her attention and intensify the story as she leaned forward entranced by my tale. She nodded along as I finished breath depleted.
She smiles widely, before saying "so you had a good time?"
I sigh disgruntled. For that was the worst time of my life and I don't think she was listening.
