The object of this assignment is for you to demonstrate you can analyze a text, pull out specific examples, and explain your reasoning as to why they are an example.

Read the first two paragraphs of The Declaration of Independence. Look for specific elements/words in the writing that appear to be influenced by the movements of The Enlightenment and The Great Awakening.

In your responses provide a direct quotation of your example then explain how it reflects the beliefs of either The Enlightenment or The Great Awakening.

You are expected to provide a minimum of two examples for each movement.
