Passage 1 In the third inning of the game, I lost control as a pitcher and walked two batters in a row. It was a case of the "rookie jitters." My catcher, Joey, came to the mound to try to calm me down. He told me that it wasn't a big deal, and that I should just relax and have fun. I didn't expect him to say such a thing and was taken aback. But it worked! I struck out the next two batters and got the batter after that to fly out to left field. Being a veteran, Joey knew how to put me at ease, and I've always been grateful for that. Passage 2: I could tell that Pete was rattled after walking the first two batters in the third inning. I ran to the mound and asked him what was wrong. He said, "Joey, I don't know; my control is just off..." I grinned and told him not to worry about it. Control would come and go, but it wasn't something worth getting worked up over. After that, he got his control back. I'm not sure why it happened, but I'm glad it did... These two passages describe the same event, but from different points of view and some conflicting information. Which statement accurately summarizes a difference between the two passages? A) In Passage 1, the pitcher says he has lost control; in Passage 2, the pitcher denies that he has lost control. B) In Passage 2, the pitcher says he has lost control; in Passage 1, the pitcher denies that he has lost control. C) In Passage 1, the pitcher tells how he got out of the inning; in Passage 2, the catcher does not supply this information. D) In Passage 2, the catcher tells how he got out of the inning; in Passage 1, the pitcher does not supply this information.
