What made the Korean War particular tragic?

The Korean war was tragic as Korea was separated from China. Moreover, there is massive human and property loss. American and UN forces have controlled 90% of the North Korea until MacArthur breached the orders and warned to pose a serious threat to China. The war pushed American and UN forces to go out of Korea.
