Caleb's school district is considering modifying its high schools to offer career paths for 11th and 12 grade. This would mean that upon the completion of 10th grade, students would either pursue a general academic path or a technical career path. The school district has asked its students to write an argumentative essay expressing their opinion about this topic. Read the following body paragraph from Caleb's argumentative essay. Since all students are not the same, the classes that they take to prepare them for the future should not be the same either. Some students may want to go to a four-year university and study English.
Other students may want to pursue a career in auto mechanics or a technical field and may want to take specialized classes to get hands-on experience. In consideration of what is best for students long term, the high schools in our district should be modified to offer different career paths for students. Which of the following statements could be used to support the argument in the above paragraph? Select three that apply.
A. It is estimated that 75% of high school students do not know what career they want to pursue.

B. For many years, high schools in Europe have successfully prepared students for their futures by offering students specialized career paths.

C. Overall, high school graduation rates have increased 20% from ten years ago.

D. Data has indicated that schools that offer multiple career paths have higher graduation rates than schools that do not.
