Writing Prompt:
Write a paragraph that convinces the mayor of your
town that your neighborhood needs a new park.
Passage:
The neighborhood that I live in needs a new park.
Currently, when children want to play they need to does
so out on the street. This is dangerous because the
cars that travel along this street drive very fast. Many of
the children in the neighborhood would like to play in a
park but he closest one is 10 miles away and the
children are too young to drive themselves there. In
addition, studies show that children who have places
to play are les likely to get in trouble. A new park would
not only be a enjoyed by children, but young and old
alike, can enjoy the beauty of the trees, flowers, and
grass. At this time, there was an acre or two of land
available o the city for a reasonable price and this land
is just the right distance from the street. A park is
place where communities can be brought together.
