Explain in your own words the quotation:
"no man could tell what he would do if he were in the shoes of another man"

It means that nobody knows what they would do if they were another person for a day until they became that person

First part ~ 'No man could tell what he would do if he were in the shoes of another man' ~ 

This is known as empathy, He will never get a chance to know how another person will/would feel in situations/life.
