and metaphors. Dream is an abstract noun. Make sure you use an abstract noun, one we cannot
touch or see, as the focus of your poem. Some suggestions might include Hope, Laughter, Love,
or Jealousy.
B. Choose a simile, a metaphor, or imagery that you like the most in either "Harlem" or
"Dreams" and explain why you found the figurative language to be effective. You answer should
be in the form of a paragraph.
C. Argue that you are in agreement with Hughes' view on a dream deferred. Compose a formal
paragraph in which you support Hughes. Avoid using second person you and contractions. Do
not use apologies such as "in my opinion" or "I believe."
