I knew little about the American Revolution before completing this lesson. I knew about the contributions of our Founding Fathers such as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. For example, I knew that Washington was the commander of the Continental army and that Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence. But I knew nothing about the contributions that Europeans such as Marquis de Lafayette and Baron von Steuben made to American independence. I also didn’t include any important female revolutionaries in my list, so it was nice to learn about Molly Pitcher. (Fill in the blanks)
