(3) In the early 1960s, Thomas performed the song as a restaurant musician. (4) The people in town loved it and created the famous dance moves. (5) Thomas and his song were discovered by a customer and music producer named Louis van Rijmenant. (6) He liked the song and recorded it. (7) From there, its popularity spread around the globe.
