My dear uncle,

I know this is a hard time for you and the whole family to think of anything. It must have been a shock to learn of cousin Lucy's pregnancy even though she's still a young girl in school.

But please don't be harsh to her or she will only end up dejected and hurt. You are the family she got and she would expect love and understanding from you and be provided with emotional support and comfort.

And if you only act in your interest and not think of what that will do to her, things will only turn the worse. It is at times like this that she will be needing all the love and support she can get, especially from the people closest to her. So, please be understanding and be there for her. She will learn to appreciate what you are and she will also learn how to be a better understanding person herself, which will help her in her new role as a mother. Moreover, she will also think in a much more mature way and learn to be a better person.

If you act harshly to her, she will have no one to turn to. She will get criticized by others and if her ow family rejects her, she will only feel hurt and anger. But if you support her even though she did something bad, she will learn how a parent must act and react even at times like these. And that will become a good lesson for her to learn and be a good mother to her child too.

So, by setting aside your feelings and opinions and thinking rationally, everything will be more positive and easier to deal with. Cousin Lucy will feel assured that she has her family behind her back for support and be more encouraged even if others criticize her. moreover, it will be good for the baby to be around positive energy.

I hope what I write makes a bit of sense for you and make you understand things from outside your viewpoint. Thinking outside of your comfort zone may not lessen the damage but it will make you realize the predicament your daughter is in. And hopefully, it will help you get to be more sensible and understanding of her situation. Moreover, she needs a strong and loving father who is there for her daughter when the whole world is against her.
