I still remember the day I finally managed to ride a bicycle
on my own. I was about seven years old when my best
friend Graham told me that it was high time I started riding
the bicycle without the training wheels. At that time, I
thought it was a great idea. After all, I was the best kite
runner among my friends and could climb a tree faster than
anyone. So, riding a bicycle would not be such a difficult
task. With the help of my dad, Graham and I took the
training wheels off the bicycle. Now that the moment
had finally arrived, I could feel the butterflies in my
stomach. My legs were shaking, and my hands were sweaty
I gripped the handlebars tightly and stood calmly, ready to
start. Graham held onto the bicycle, and slowly, I started to
paddle. I gradually picked up speed, feeling confident,
because I knew Graham was right behind me, helping me
keep my balance. After some time, looking from the corner
of my eye I realized that Graham had just let go of the
bicycle. Initially, I lost balance for a few seconds, but
after a few encouraging words from Graham, I regained my
confidence. Feeling proud and happy, I rode toward Graham
who was patiently waiting with a big smile on his face.
