It gets the water it needs from seeds.
The desert is another tough
habitat to live in. Deserts get very
little rainfall. Many animals could
not survive there. The kangaroo
rat, though, is right at home in the
desert. This small, hopping rodent
can go its whole life without
drinking any water. It gets the
water it needs from the seeds it
eats.
It can survive without ever drinking water.
It is about the same size and color as a kangaroo
rat.
