Chapters are comprised of scenes, finite moments in the narrative. The boys in the kitchen with Ma in the second chapter, "Never-Never Time," is an example of a scene, as is the description of Paps, Ma, and the author swimming in the chapter "The Lake." It is acceptable to develop a claim through more than one scene: for example, the first scene in the kitchen with the boys and Ma and the second scene in the kitchen with the boys and Paps. Of course, there is no reason you should limit yourself to these examples.
