Dystopia means relating to or denoting an imagined state or society where there is great suffering or injustice.

The dystopian novel by Neal Shusterman explores a distant future where life is seemingly perfect.

And they're fighting back from this "perfect" world.

It goes against the vastly-accepted presumption that AI is the bringer of the human downfall.

One of the main themes in Scythe is the value of life. People are practically immortal in Scythe. Medicine has advanced to the point where you can revive again and again.
