the author is intending to draw attention to the plight of refugees, editorial and biography support this. both workpieces make the reader empathize with enrique as well as with the other young migrants from central america. the writer, however, is using a different approach to each text.

the editorial includes strong words to persuade readers. he is trying hard to convince readers in the us to change its refugee approach.

the biography relies on narrative techniques and figurative language which the writer uses wisely in the setting, characterization, and personification to educate readers on the topic.

procne murdered her son and served him to tereus, her husband and her son's father. she did this out of revenge. tereus raped her sister, philomela, and cut her tongue out to keep her from talking. philomela managed to communicate it to procne and procne sought revenge.

tantalus murdered his son and fed him to the gods because he was angry with the gods. the gods punished him by putting him in a pool of water that evaporates when he tries to drink and having fruit hang just out of his reach.
