Here's the assignment for your poem analysis. It needs to be minimum of 300 words. The instructions below are from the Performance Task assignment sheet.

Your poem and poem analysis should include the following.
1) A name/title. Don’t disregard the title – it can be an important part of the poem!
2) The poem should be between 3 – 5 stanzas, each consisting of about 4-6 lines.
3) Theme—Your poem should have a theme. What is the main idea of the poem? How do you know? What is it trying to say? Why is this theme important for you?
4) Figurative language and imagery — Your poem should have some elements and devices of poetry. Are there any examples of symbols? Metaphors? Similes? Hyperbole? Irony? Any Imagery that appeals to the senses?
5) Speaker— Think about WHO is “telling” the poem? Is it you? Is it an apple? Is it clear to your audience? Is it important to your message?
6) Purpose—Think about the purpose of the poem. Is it to criticize? To celebrate? To entertain? To explain that something is not what we think it is? For what reason was the poem written?
7) Subject— Before AND after writing, think about the topic or subject of the poem. Does it say what you want it to say? Do you agree with your own poem?
8) Tone— What is the emotional quality of the poem? How do you know?

Boundless concrete jungles stretch, Bare streets criss-cross with a stench. Numerous heads bob bearing lust, Ignoring sweltering heat and dust.
Was it to be a heaven of my dreams! With countless trees and streams, Home to chirruping birds and marine, Adding to nature’s rhythm pristine.
Or an out of the world fairy land, Story time with granny to spend, Snug in warmth of mamma’s love, Braving burdens with dad’s shove.
