An interesting character would be Ponyboy from The Outsiders. He's a greaser from the 60's in the east side of Tulsa, Oklahoma where him and the other greasers have a hatred for the Socs who live on the West Side. What surprised me was that when his older brother Darrel slapped while they were arguing, he ran away from his home. Usually you would hide in your room till either you or your sibling say sorry. It showed that they had a close bond.

Ban This Book is a book that stars Amy Anne Ollinger, a 9 year old girl at Shelbourne Elementary.  She has 2 sisters, a mom and a dad, and 2 Rottweiler dogs. What surprised me the most in the book was Amy thought a kid was banning the books. What kid would want to ban Captain Underpants! Instead, it was the kid's mom banning the books.
