George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion is a twentieth
century odaptation of a very old tole In Greek mythology,
Pygmalion was a sculptor who fell in love with his own

in Shaw's version of the story, Professor Henry Higgins
assumes the role of Pygmalion, only his creation is a
young woman whom he and his friend bet they can
