A student has written the following thesis: Recent claims that bee colony collapse will end food production as we know are not well supported.

During the research process, however, the student finds very little research that supports her claim and much evidence that contradicts it. Which of the following would be the most appropriate revision for her thesis? (5 points)
Although only a few scientists claim that bee colony collapse poses only a short-term food-production problem, this clearly must be the truth.
Bee colony collapse is such a new development that not enough time has passed to allow enough skeptics to develop evidence against its potential threat.
Once bees have stopped dying in sufficient quantity, there will be ample evidence to support a claim that bee colony collapse is an invention of the human imagination.
While some believe the bees will recover, albeit slowly, it is becoming increasingly clear that our food crops may be in danger.

Read the following excerpt from "harrison bergeron" by kurt vonnegut: he tried to think a little about the ballerinas. they weren't really very good-no better than anybody else would have been, anyway. they were burdened with sashweights and bags of birdshot, and their faces were masked, so that no one, seeing a free and graceful gesture or a pretty face, would feel like something the cat drug in. george was toying with the vague notion that maybe dancers shouldn't be handicapped. but he didn't get very far with it before another noise in his ear radio scattered his thoughts. what message about the role of media is best supported in this excerpt? a. media are the reason george is able to watch ballet. b. media change people's values, making them more selfish. c. media tend to make audiences' worldviews the same. d. media can be used to distract audiences from the truth.
