Consumerism is the protection or promotion of the interests of consumers.It created a system in which people could reasonably afford a variety of goods. This helped create the "consumer" because people would exchange currency or goods in order to receive goods or services from that system.Conspicuous consumption is when a consumer indulges in luxuries on a lavish scale in an attempt to gain notoriety for their prestige or wealth. EXAMPLE: A lady spends around six hundred dollars on a popular watch, in order to gain popularity.Since mass consumption was already a thing in the western world and the United States was a huge manufacturer, the other powers had no problems with giving US resources from Congo in order to have them manufacture things for mass markets including things like fancy jewelry or technology or anything similar which only increased consumerism.  The process by which businesses or other organizations develop international influence or start operating on an international scale.Mainly through initiating new forms of consumption and consumption behaviours, creating new products, new sales places and new needs, changing the ways of consumption, trends and lifestyles, and increasing in consumer activity.
