Practice creating a dramatic scene. create three to five sentences that paint an image in the reader’s mind. in each sentence include at least one of the following: simile, metaphor, alliteration, personification, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, and connotation. label each sentence with the device you used. (note: you will not necessarily use all of these devices.)

I saw her. Sitting across the restaurant. She had curves in all the right places, like an hourglass.(simile) A lovely golden tone, she was surely a sight to behold. I let out a small cough to signal the waiter. "Cough..."(onomatopoeia) He came over and asked if I needed anything. I nodded over to her and asked to speak to her. He nodded and smiled, walking away. I looked at her for another moment. She was a glowing angel, a ray of sunshine.(metaphor) Her personality seemed childish and youthful. (connotion) She seemed shy, but I was sure she would open up to me. (alliteration) Just staring at her made my stomach do a flip. (hyperbole) I looked back at my table and fiddled with my sweaty hands. I was nervous, but I would finally get to see her. Not more than 10 minutes later, there she was. Sitting at my table. I smiled and picked her up, before taking a large bite out of her, sighing in satisfaction.
