Why is conflict important to a story?

Conflict is so important because that is what makes a story. It makes a reader want to read whatever it is. It shows how characters develop and grow.

Because it is used to create tension in the story like it will leave the reader more interested in what is gonna happen next.Conflict is necessary for all stories. That is how they get the genre out of the conflict :)
