If you are a female i would like your opinions/facts on this topic write a letter to the editor explaining what they believe is the current status of women in the United States. Reference their social history (the women profiled earlier in the lesson) and explain how it may or may not be connected to issues that women face today. Students can use the following guiding questions to help build an argument:
What is the evidence women have or have not achieved equal rights and powers?
How can knowledge of women’s past experiences be used to understand the progress they have made or the progress that is still to be made?
