Lasted a little while... I need help is there a number to dial?
I need just a little something to numb it but I still can’t smile.
Told myself I wouldn’t go back,
Only a little keeping it a stack…
Strength yea that’s something I lack,
Scars and bruises blue and black.
Nobody home leave me alone,
You drive me crazy mind blown.
Only time that I’m ok is when I’m sleeping through the day,
That way I don’t feel and it takes the pain away.
Love it when you talk to me,
The thought of leaving I can’t breathe.
Baby teach me just how not to feel,
Make emotionless be real.
I just want to be numb,
Almost there maybe I’m done…
How am I supposed to fight?
Right now nothing feels right,
Lose my grip I just might.
I don’t wanna sleep at night,
Just want you to hold me tight.
Feel your chest warm under my skin,
With you it’s different, I’ll let you in.
Want your hand all on my face,
I want your arms, want your embrace.
I want to hear sweet lies you say,
Tell me everything’s ok.
I know you try to be strong but I see right through it anyway,
All the pain that you're in cuz I fall deeper everyday…
And I’m sorry that I’m selfish,
When I feel my thoughts are hellish.
But it’s you I need around,
I’m sorry if I lose this fight baby, ion wanna let you down.
But I’m scared,
With a feeling of a pain beyond compare.
Terrified,
Wanna cave, wanna shrivel up and hide.
But I have you babygirl all I need by my side.
You keep me going,
Hold me steady see the pain even if it isn’t showing.
You hold me down you're the glue,
My heart ma it belongs to you.
Because of you I stick around,
And I can’t stand to see you down.
I will never let you fall,
Even if I can’t stand I got your back babe through it all.
I can’t even lie I’m feeling all the drift,
But you all keep me up, hold me when I need a lift.
I promise imma keep it going to I can’t no more,
I’ll drive you crazy for a while yea that’s for sure…

Read this excerpt from "ain't i a woman? " by sojoumer truth in which three sentences does she make an emotional appeal to the audience by talking about her personal hardships? well, children, where there is so much racket there must be something out of kilter. {i think that 'twixt the negroes of the south and the women at the north, all talking about rights, the white men will be in a fix pretty soon.} but what's all this here talking about? {that man over there says that women need to be into carriages, and lifted over ditches, and to have the best place everywhere. nobody ever me into carriages, or over mud puddles, or gives me any best place} and ain't i a woman? look at me! look at my arm! {i have ploughed and planted, and gathered into bars, and no man could head me! } and ain't i a woman? i could work as much and eat as much as a man - when i could get it - and bear the lash as well! and ain't i a woman? {i have borne thirteen children, and seen most all sold off to slavery, and when i cried out with my mother's grief, none but jesus heard me! } and ain't i a woman? {then they talk about this thing in the head, what's this they call it? [member of audience whispers, "intellect") that's it, honey.} what's that got to do with women's rights or negroes' rights? if my cup won't hold but a pint, and yours holds a quart, wouldn't you be mean not to let me have my little half measure full?

{asap} select the correct text in the passage. which line in this excerpt from jonathan swift's "a modest proposal" uses the rhetorical device of irony? and secondly, there being a round million of creatures in humane figure throughout this kingdom, whose whole subsistence put into a common stock, would leave them in debt two million of pounds sterling, adding those who are beggars by profession, to the bulk of farmers, cottagers and labourers, with their wives and children, who are beggars in effect; i desire those politicians who dislike my overture, and may perhaps be so bold to attempt an answer, that they will first ask the parents of these mortals, whether they would not at this day think it a great happiness to have been sold for food at a year old, in the manner i prescribe, and thereby have avoided such a perpetual scene of misfortunes, as they have since gone through, by the oppression of landlords, the impossibility of paying rent without money or trade, the want of common sustenance, with neither house nor cloaths to cover them from the inclemencies of the weather, and the most inevitable prospect of intailing the like, or greater miseries, upon their breed for ever. i profess, in the sincerity of my heart, that i have not the least personal interest in endeavouring to promote this necessary work, having no other motive than the publick good of my country, by advancing our trade, providing for infants, relieving the poor, and giving some pleasure to the rich. i have no children, by which i can propose to get a single penny; the youngest being nine years old, and my wife past child-bearing. lines highlighted: - there being a round million of creatures in humane figure throughout this kingdom, whose whole subsistence put into a common stock, would leave them in debt two million of pounds sterling, - they have since gone through, by the oppression of landlords, the impossibility of paying rent without money or trade, the want of common sustenance, with neither house nor cloaths to cover them from the inclemencies of the weather - i have not the least personal interest in endeavouring to promote this necessary work, having no other motive than the publick good of my country, - i have no children, by which i can propose to get a single penny; the youngest being nine years old, and my wife past child-bearing.
