And allusion is when a   story refers to another work of literature. In this case, when Aunt Nicey says  that whatever Doodle and Brother will show them has to be as good as the   Resurrection, she is referring to when Jesus comes back from the dead. here are the alliusions in scarlet ibis"It was too late, for we had both wandered too far into a net of expectationsand HAD LEFT NO CRUMBS BEHIND."
