Brutus was a betrayer, not only by murdering his best friend Caesar, but because he claimed to do it for all the people of Rome, besides murdering someone should not be the only way for Rome to be a free country. Many people will argue that Brutus is a patriot because of his hard decisions to make and because he was trying to save Rome. However, these intentions don’t seem correct, you should not kill someone for a country to be free, and you should not kill anyone at all.
Brutus was really a betrayer, cloaked in a disguise of patriot, because he decided to take matters into his own hands and kill Caesar in cold blood when he was trusted. Brutus betrayed all those who had trusted in him, friends and foes alike, and used his social position and closeness to Caesar to be able to end what he thought was tyranny. However, it is also important to note three things about Brutus. The first is that the intentions that led Brutus to decide to kill Caesar were all good. He believed truly that letting Caesar continue as he was, went against the very principles on which Rome was founded. Brutus defended the principles of Rome, even when he faced the danger of being shunned by his people and being killed for his defense of those principles. Caesar had been growing politically and militarily in Rome and outside, and he became a true danger for the principles on which Rome was founded. Those who were patriots, who believed in these principles, took on the task of ending the danger; Brutus was one of those people.
In my opinion I think Brutus was a betrayer he did a lot of terrible things like murdering his true friend he thought it'll be good for Rome. It doesn't matter what stuff he did to be a patriot he murdered a person that's a betrayer especially a close friend Caesar trusted him a lot Brutus was always there for him but he betrayed him.

He's a patriot because he killed Caesar for the good of Rome and then when he lost and felt like he did all that he could do for Rome, he killed himself (he died for Rome).
