Anger can lead to impatience, and rash decision-making.  While if you feel afraid, your decisions may be clouded by uncertainty, and caution, and it might take you longer to choose. Noticing and naming emotions gives us the chance to take a step back and make choices about what to do with them. Emotions are just a form of energy, forever seeking expression. Paradoxically, sharing what we're feeling in simple terms helps us to better contain and manage even the most difficult emotions. It is important to identify one's feelings because it helps us build better relationships. That's because being aware of our emotions can help us talk about feelings more clearly, avoid or resolve conflicts better, and move past difficult feelings more easily. Some people are naturally more in touch with their emotions than others.
