So my name is April right and the teacher told us to make a poem about our name so is this good Spring blooms again in April. The blossoms' scent in my senses.
You were there with me, gave me a smile, the most troublesome girl I met.
You had that color, that color of happiness.
The color I've been longing to find.
You never ran away from the stage.
With me here fearing the piano, myself.
Running away from my past.
Making reasons to not play it.
You are the one who made the reason for me to play it again.
The sound which I couldn't hear resonates from the deepest depths of my heart.
The light of the music flows in my body.
I was fascinated.
Never have I thought this day would come.
Ever since meeting you made my life meaningful.
I ran away from who I really am.
Ran away from what I really want.
Ran away from the past I never want.
Despair, sorrow, fear, consumed my soul.
The reason I'd never played it from the death of my mother.
The grief of not following her.
The guilt.
The pain.
The sadness.
I was alone. But there are friends who tried to help me get out of this misery.
Get up from the grave I was buried.

Spring blooms again in April.
I met you in a playground playing a melodica.
With children you were playing with, I took a photo of you.
The wind had blown and you saw me and thought I was taking a picture of your underwear.
You threw that melodica and knocked me down.
Never have I known you were the friend of my friend.
Carrying a violin, you took my hand to the music hall.
I heard your music.
I heard it from the darkness of my colors.
I thought of myself "This girl is unpredictable, short-tempered and aggressive".
With her music the purest of the pure, my colors started to have meaning.
You held my hand trying your all to make me play the piano again.
I made a reason again to run away from you and from the piano.
But you didn't stop.
As we play together, our music moved everyone's heart.
As you moved mine too.
But why?

You spoke again.
Letting me play again the piano even I cannot.
You let me play my mother's favorite piece.
Everything's perfectly fine as you accompany me in our performance.
There are times if I lose my track at the keys, you will yell at me.
I didn't mind it.
The day of our performance has come.
You never showed up.
But it never held me back.
I stood by my own feet walking towards the stage and the piano.
I played it.
I played the piece we should be performing together at the stage.
I saw the colors of anger and sadness.
This piece is what mother remains to me.
Mother and I are together.
Now, I know.
I know why you'd let me play this piece.
The piece my mother once played for me.
Love's Sorrow.

The day I feared the most has come.
I thought everything will be fine.
You will be fine.
You smiled and said "Yes! I can do it! Don't worry about me!"
You are not like the girl I met the past few months.
It shouldn't be like this.
Yet, you let me play again.
"Ring! Let it ring to people's hearts!"
I had doubts and regrets.
But I came up to the stage.
I thought after playing my piece, everything will be the way it was before.
I thought...

You left without saying goodbye.
You should've let me say goodbye too..
I read the letter..
This was your feelings..
The reason why I play the piano again.
Is you..

If we met someday in another life,
I pray it was the day..
The day spring blooms again in April.

Read the excerpt from cristina garcia’s dreaming in cuban.i don’t really want to talk about my father but i end up telling minnie how he used to take me horseback riding on our ranch, strapping me in his saddle with a leather seat belt he designed just for me. dad’s family owned casinos in cuba, and had one of the largest ranches on the island. there were beef cattle and dairy cows, horses, pigs, goats, and lambs. dad fed them molasses to fatten them, and gave the chickens corn and sorghum until they laid vermilion eggs, rich with vitamins. he took me on an overnight inspection once. we camped out under a sapodilla tree and listened to the pygmy owls with their old women’s voices. my father knew i understood more than i could say. he told me stories about cuba after columbus came. he said that the spaniards wiped out more indians with smallpox than with muskets.how does the structure of the excerpt add meaning to the passage? it includes historical information about the spaniards and indians to indicate the work is nonfiction.it describes the setting of the ranch owned by pilar’s cuban grandparents to explain family values.it uses several narrators to share their points of view about past and present life in cuba.it manipulates the chronological order of events to reveal the close relationship between pilar and her father.
