They share Clarity of thought, conciseness, correct grammar and sentence structure, and simple language characterize effective business writing. The research process allows you to gain expertise on a topic of your choice, and the writing process helps you remember what you have learned and understand it on a deeper level. Memos have a twofold purpose: they bring attention to problems, and they solve problems. Regardless of the specific goal, memos are most effective when they connect the purpose of the writer with the interests and needs of the reader. Choose the audience of the memo wisely.
