Scene 1

A fire crackles inside a cozy cabin. Reuben and Bailey sit close by on a sofa, peacefully sipping hot chocolate from large mugs. Another young boy, Quinn, bursts through the door.

Quinn: (Huffing) You'll never believe what I've just seen!

Reuben and Bailey turn quickly in surprise. Bailey spills some of his hot chocolate down his shirt.

Bailey: Ouch! (Shaking his head, as he pats at the spilled liquid) Quinn, you really must stop doing that!

Quinn: (Puzzled as he pulls off his coat) Doing what?

Bailey: Rushing in here and shouting about your latest impossible sighting. Yesterday it was a penguin. The day before, it was a flying reindeer.

Scene 2

Quinn leads the others to a clearing in the woods. He bends down and points at a footprint in the snow.

Quinn: Here! See how big they are?

Bailey: (A low whistle) They are big!

Quinn: They're not that far apart, though. This makes me think that the creature may also be really heavy.

Reuben: That makes sense. Let's follow them and see where they lead.

The boys trudge along through the snow, following the footprints.

Bailey: Look! (Pointing at the ground between two trees) A second set appears from this direction! They're also really large and rounded, just like the others. See these tracks, too?
