I'm fairly sure I've already told the story of me taking swimming lessons, but this story matches the scenario well. So I had to take swimming lessons for about a month. And I was passing in every category except backstrokes. I was having a hard time keeping my face above water and most of the time I had to be pulled aside for private lessons. All of this made me start to dread going to swim practice for everyone, but I could do them. Well, it was another day at swim practice and I was being pulled aside to practice my backstroke. Anyways, I was up next so I got into position and started. To this day I'm still not sure what I did differently, but I managed to complete my backstroke successfully. I was so excited and I even got congratulated by my swimming teachers. I didn't feel like a failure anymore and the rest of my swimming classes were a breeze.
