All American Boys -- Real Life Connections For this discussion post, I really want you to engage in some deep thinking in order to connect the issues and themes we see in the novel to our real lives. We've had some discussions in class that has led us down this road in some ways, but here is your chance to make even deeper connections. This discussion post is in two parts, and I want you to complete both.

1. For part one, I want you to discuss real-life situations that you've seen or heard about that connect to our book. For this, try to think of issues we haven't yet spoken about in class. How have you seen racism, protest, conflict, dehumanization play out in our current world? How can you connect the issues in our book with real-life issues?

**You need to create a slides document with the event/person that you choose that relates to the novel**

2. For part two, I want you to think of your future lives. In what types of jobs might you encounter these issues in real life? Think about the topics, conflict, and issues in our book, and decide in which type of jobs someone might have to encounter these issues. On an even deeper level, in what type of jobs might people have to come up with an ARGUMENT on one side of these issues?

Try to think outside the box as best you can. Don't simply repeat something we've already discussed in class, but instead, give us all something fresh to consider.

**For part 2, you need to write at least 2 paragraphs (double spaced) explaining.
