Read the passage about a soccer game.
I knew it wasn’t going to be a good game the minute I ran out onto the field. I slipped on the wet grass and landed on my back.
Our opponents scored three goals in the first half, but we only scored one. I know we were down because of the weather. How are you supposed to play soccer when it’s raining like you’re in the middle of a hurricane?
The second half was even worse. I was relieved when the referee blew the final whistle.
“Good game, Morgan,” my dad said, slapping me on the back.
“Yeah, right,” I moaned. “That wasn’t a game. It was a disaster!”
